How to Reach

From Kullu, you can avail the bus services to reach the Bijli Mahadev temple. The bus will drop you off at Chansari village. From there you can climb the stairs for a distance of about 3kms to reach your destination. You can also avail the cab services in the Kullu taxi stand. If you are more of the adventurous kind, you can also walk all the way from Kullu itself. If the weather is pleasant, the journey is worth the while.

  • The temple has a Shiva Linga inside it. Locals claim that every year the Linga is shattered into pieces by thunder and lightning. The locals and the priest use home-made butter to reconstruct the statue.
  • During the festival of Shiv Ratri, many devotees travel from all points of the country to pay their tribute there. There are many celebrations arranged during that time.
  • People also worship certain stones and statues that are placed outside the temple.
