  • This beautiful palace is devoted to Queen Padmavati’s, Rawal Ratan Singh’s second wife and the interior as well as the exteriors are too mesmerizing and record a legendary yet tragic history behind it. A musician in the rule of Ratan Singh was abducted by the court as he was a sorcerer and he spitefully went to Mughal King Alauddin Khilji and told him about Queen Padmavati’s flawless beauty.
  • What happened next was that Alauddin Khilji, out of avariciousness, befriended Ratan Singh and insisted to him that he wants to see Rani Padmini. Since, Rajput traditions don’t allow women to meet any unknown strangers, Ratan Singh told Alauddin Khilji that he can have a glance at her through the mirror situated in the central hall of Padmini Palace.
  • Alauddin Khilji was in awe after seeing Queen Padmavati’s reflection and decided that he will surely add her to his harem. All this franticness resulted in several schemes and an ultimate attack at the Chittorgarh Fort. It is said that Rani Padmavati’s valor lies in the self-immolation she did and that’s why she is still today lauded for her bravery and strength.
