The Pazhassi Raja Tomb is a spot which is located in Kalpetta, Wayanad. This location pays tribute to the great Pazhassi Raja, a king who was one of the most feared person by the British once they had started occupying the lands of Kerala. Constructed over the spot where this great warrior was finally cremated after he was captured by the British officers, this location is famous all over the country for its historical significance. The memorial showcases the importance that this scion played during the course of history with his ability to conduct guerilla warfare in such a tactical way that he was able to evade capture for a really long period of time. The tomb is well maintained with a lot of flowers around the walking paths, making it very inviting to the visitors. How to Reach

Situated in the Wayanad district at a distance of about 30 kilometers from Kalpetta, this spot is widely visited by many tourists. Wayanad has not got its own railway station with the nearest railway station being located at Thalasseri at a distance of 80 kilometers. The closest airport is present at Kozhikode which is about 140 kilometers away. The bus stop is located at about 1 kilometer away from the tomb and is easily reachable by cabs and auto rickshaws which are available in plenty around the area.
