  • Visiting Time: The Palace is open throughout the year on all days of the week. The public can view the palace between 1000 – 1700 hours. Sunday is a holiday for the palace staff.

  • The Bangalore Palace was built in 1887 by King Chamaraj Wadiyar of the Wadiyar dynasty. It is said that King Chamaraj built the palace after visiting London. He was really impressed by the castles in England.
  • The Palace draws inspiration from Tudor style of architecture. Like a medieval era, castle, it is filled with fortified barricades, spiraling towers and ornate windows. There is beauty in the sculpted arches and beautiful gardens.
  • The palace is mainly constructed out of wood. But various parts of the Palace have been made using granite and marble sheets. The palace square has granite benches which have been decorated with fluorescent blue tiles.
