Dachigam National Park, Kashmir

Situated 22 km away from Srinagar, Dachigam National Park covers an area of over 141 sq km the variation in the altitudes of this national park challenges the adventurer in you as it ranges from 5500 ft to 14000 ft. The name Dachigam refers to ‘Ten Villages’ and it was declared a national park in the year 1981.

The park is home to a wide range of rare species. Some of the wildlife spotted here includes brown bear, jungle cats, black bulbuls, Himalayan monals and many more. The trees found here include cherry, plum, pear, willow and oak. There are more than 500 herb varieties, 50 types of trees and around 20 varieties of shrubs.
