Hall Bazaar, Amritsar

The shopping hub of Amritsar, hall bazaar comprises of numerous streets lined with a row of shops that offer a variety of articles from electronics items, ornaments, best quality books, handicrafts and ready-made garments. The entry to the market is facilitated by the Gandhi gate or Hall Gate. The gate is characterised by a Giant Clock with the caption “Amritsar-Sifti da ghar” and is built in the Mughal style of architecture.

One can buy a variety of items here as the range of products offered here is huge, a great place for shopping if you have never experienced street shopping in India. We have made a special mention of the place as we wanted to make a note of some amazing local eateries which are located in this market that offer some delicious and authentic Punjabi dishes. Visit Pehelwan fish shop if you want to have a taste of some really tasty Punjabi fried fish, Bade Bhai ka Brother’s Dhaba which offers some amazing and butter rich Punjabi recipes and if you cannot decide, simply order the Punjabi thali for some amazing Punjabi curries and cooked veggies, Bheeri Gali wali Dukan which is famous for its authentic Punjabi non-veg recipes which are all prepared in butter. Apart from these places the market is full of other unexplored Punjabi style eateries which we will leave it on you to explore.
