Day 01 : Arrival in Delhi
Arrival
in Delhi and be met by our representative at the airport welcoming you to
India with fresh flowers. Transfer to the Hotel for immediate occupancy of
the rooms already reserved for you. As most of the International flights
arrive late in the evening, we have kept this day free. And in the case
where your flight arrives during daytime, other optional activities (like
visit to amusement park, shopping Tours etc) can be provided or you can also
just spend the day at leisure to get rid of jet leg. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 02 : Delhi
Today explore the city of Delhi with exclusive guide. This is the capital city of India and has a very good combination of both modern, as well as ancient culture. During its 2000 years of existence, there has been the origin of seven cities, where the traditional Indian capital is now situated. Your sightseeing will include all the major attractions of Delhi like Red fort, Jama Masjid,Chandni chowk Bazaar, Qutub Minar, Humayun's Tomb and the government buildings like Parliament House, President House, India Gate,etc. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 03 : Delhi to Varanasi
In the morning, proceed to domestic airport to catch the flight to Varanasi. Meet & greet at Varanasi airport with our representative followed by transfer to your Hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore the ancient city of Varanasi on your own. Varanasi is the holiest of Indian cities for Hindus. Unfortunately, some of the ancient temples and structures in Varanasi have been destroyed but still there are many remains which are mainly 18th and 19th century buildings. You can visit the major monuments including various Temples. Later we will take you to Ghats of Ganges to see the evening ceromanies. Overnight in Varanasi.
Day 04 : Varanasi
Your city tour will include all the major attractions of Varanasi and Temples. Go for early morning boat ride in the river at Ghats of Ganges to apprise you of the various Hindu rituals taking place at the bathing ghats, also witness the wonderful sunrise from the river Ganges. On the way back you will visit the Bharat Mata temple, the exteriors of Vishwanath temple and the Durga temple in the holy city of Varanasi.
Day 05 : Varanasi to Khajuraho
After lunch, proceed to airport to catch the Indian Airlines flight to Khajuraho. Meet & greet at Khajuraho Airporty followed by transfer to your Hotel (please note that you can also go to Khajuraho by previous day's overnight train instead of air). In the evening, you can go for "Light & Sound" show held at Main Temples. Overnight in Khajuraho.
Day 06 : Khajuraho
In the temple architecture of India, the Khajuraho remains unique and best.
One thousand years ago, 85 temples, magnificent in form and richly carved,
came up on one site, at the Khajuraho but today, of the original 85, only 22
have survived the ravages of time. Some of the temples are world famous for
"Erotica of Khajuraho", and indeed of other temples, had a
specific purpose. In those days when boys lived in hermitages, following the
Hindu law of being "brahmacharis" until they attained manhood, the
only way they could prepare themselves for the worldly role of 'householder'
was through the study of these sculptures and the earthly passions they
depicted. These temples are the most exquisite specimen of Hindu
architecture and sculpture in medieval India. Though erotic sculptures are
the main attraction to common visitor, these erotic figures are only part of
sublime and sensuality. The architectural style of the Khajuraho temples is
very different from the temple prototype of that period. The temples of
Khajuraho are divided into three geographical groups: Western, Eastern and
Southern. Your sightseeing will include all of these temples. Overnight in
Khajuraho.
Day 07 : Khajuraho to Orchha (180 Kms)
In the morning, drive from Orchha to Khajuraho (approx 4 hrs drive). Orchha's grandeur has been captured in stone and its temples. In this medieval city, the hand of time has rested lightly and the palaces and temples built by its Bundela rulers in the 16th and 17th centuries retain much of their pristine perfection. The main attractions of Orchha are: Jehangir Mahal, Raj Mahal, beautifully landscaped gardens of Anand Mahal, with its octagonal flower beds and elaborate water supply system. Skillfully carved niches allow light into the Mahal (Palace) which has a main hall and smaller chambers. Other important place of Tourist interest are Chaturbhuj Temple, Laxminarayan Temple, Phool Bagh etc. The palace known as 'Sheesh Mahal' has been converted into Heritage Hotel and our clients will be provided with the accommodation inside the said palace complex itself (subject to availability). Overnight at Orchha.
Day 08 : Orchha to Gwalior (118 Kms)
Early morning visit to "Raja Ram Temple". It is the only temple in the world where Lord Ram is being treated & worshiped as King instead of God. See the morning ceromany, and after that visit other beautiful buildings of Orchha (mentioned above). Proceed towards Gwalior by car. The ancient city of Gwalior has yet made a successful transition into a modern Indian city. Your sightseeing will include the Gwalior Fort which is Standing on a steep mass of sandstone, Gwalior Fort dominates the city and is its most magnificent monument. It has been a scene of momentous events : imprisonments, battles and jauhars. It has reputation for being one of the most invincible forts of India. This imposing structure inspired Emperor Babar to describe it "the pearl amongst the fortresses of Hind." The other important tourist sights that will be included are Sas-Bahu Ka Madir, Man Mandir Palace and Jai Vilas Palace which is the current residence of King of Gwalior. After sightseeing, continue journey to Orchha. Overnight in Gwalior.
Day 09 : Gwalior to Agra
Agra is one of the most prominent destinations in the Indian tourism circuit due to its monuments like - Taj Mahal & Agra Fort. Agra is also famous for its handicrafts products like Inley Marvel work, Leather work, Footwear etc. Your City Tour will include - magnificent TAJ MAHAL -about which legion of tributes have been written (So overwhelming is this magic monument, that Agra has been immortalized as the City of the Taj), Sikandra and Agra fort . Overnight in Agra after this hectic and most satisfying tour.
Day 10 : Agra to Jaipur Via Fatehpur Sikri (240 Kms)
In the morning, proceed for Jaipur. Enroute visit to Fatehpur Sikri, the ancient capital of King Akbar. There is no population there but the splendid palaces and mosques remain as a dream. However, this ghost city, is worth a view for its buildings, and can be classified into architectural wonders. After sightseeing, continue journey to Jaipur, reach there by late afternoon. The evening is free for your shopping or other pleasure activities. You can also experience the magic of Jaipur by taking a walk in the bye lanes of old city. A dinner (optional) can also be arranged in an ethnic restaurant to get the true flavour of Rajasthani culture, hospitality and its cuisine. Overnight at Heritage Hotel in Jaipur.
Day 11 : Jaipur to Pushkar
The
picturesque capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur is also known as the Pink city.
Start your city Tour with an early morning visit to the Fort of Amer (about
11 kms from Jaipur). Amer or Amber was the capital of ancient Rajputs for
many centuries. Ride up to the Fort gates on elephant back and explore the
great fortress palace buildings. After Amer, come back to Jaipur and spend
rest of the day in and around Pink City visiting -City Palace (The royal
family of Jaipur still lives in part of the palace), Jantar Mantar
Observatory, Palace of Winds (Hawa Mahal) and other local attractions in
Jaipur. After sightseeing, proceed to Pushkar by car. The drive will take
approx 2 hours. Overnight at Pushkar Palace (Now converted into Heritage
Hotel).
Day 12 : Pushkar to Udaipur (285 Kms)
On the edge of the desert lies the town of Pushkar, along the bank of the picturesque Pushkar Lake, overshadowed by impressive rocky hills, which offer spectacular views of the desert at sunset. The lake is almost magically beautiful in the early morning or late evening light, is one of the most sacred lakes of India and an important pilgrimage spot for the Hindus. Visit all the major attractions of the city like Pushkar lake, The Temple of God Brahma (It is the only temple in the world of God Brahma) with our guide in the morning. After sightseeing, drive towards Udaipur. Reach Udaipur late in the evening. Overnight in Udaipur.
Day 13 : Udaipur to Delhi
The city of Udaipur is also known as 'City of lakes' or 'Venice of the East'. Udaipur is a fascinating blend of sights, sounds and experience. It is like a kaleidoscope of Palaces, lakes, temples etc. Go for the sightseeing of Udaipur including all major attractions like City Palace, Sahelio ki Badi, Jagdeesh Temple, Rana Pratap Memorial etc. In the evening, proceed to airport to catch the flight to Delhi. Transfer from Delhi Domestic airport to International Airport and catch the flight back home with the sweet memories of your Indian Tour. Please note that, one extra night in Delhi can be provided on last day, if your international flight departs early in the evening / day.
