destination with the global tourist due to its spiritual and spiritual

Kashi Vishwanath Mandir : This temple is one of the most sacred of Hindu
Pilgrimages of India. Much known as the Golden temple sees lots of devotees
form all over the world almost through out the year. Here one of the twelve
revered Jyotirlinga of the Lord Shiva can be seen in the form of Lord Kashi
Vishwanath.
Ghats ( River Front) : Varanasi is the living example of Hinduism. This city's culture gets Glorified by myths and consecrated by the religion, It is believed that sipping of one handful of Ganga water can gives the virtue of A Aswamedh yajna. That is why the religious minded Hindus rush to ghats which can earn them great virtues. Varanasi has some very famous ghats like Tulshi Ghat, Hanuman Ghat, Pancha Ganga Ghat, Rana ghat, Assi ghat etc. Dasaswamedh Ghat which is about a 5 minute walk south from Godaulia is the main ghat .It is mainly known for the large evening aartis. Some ghats are known as burning ghats .There bodies are burnt in full view and their ashes are placed in the Ganga.

University established in 1916. Presently it has grownup as one of the
biggest and well-reputed universities of India.
Durga Temple : Normally known as the Monkey temple.One can find lots of monkeys are dancing and menacing in the temple compound. Built in the 18th century it is one of the best-known temple in the whole north India.
According to the Hindu myth Varanasi has also the distinction of being one of the 51 pithas. It received Sati's gemmed kundal fell at Manikarnika Ghat.
Saranath : This place of Varanasi is of no little attraction to the tourist. Saranath is a budhist centre of pilgrimage and a commercial town .It is from where only form where the Buddhism dispersed.

Jaunpur is a historical place which was constructed by the Feroz Shah in 1930.Here on can see some of the extraordinary brilliance of Tughlaq dynasty.

By Air : Babatpur airport, which is 22 km. from Varanasi, has regular flights of Indian Airlines. A direct, daily flight connects Varanasi to New Delhi. It also connects Varanasi to Agra,. Khajuraho, Calcutta, Mumbai, Lucknow and Bhuvaneshwar.
By Train : Kashi Vishwanath Express (Varanasi-Delhi), Shramjivi Express (Patna- Varanasi-Delhi), connects Delhi to Varanasi. Besides this two trains for south India Varanasi has Ganga-Kaveri Express (Varanasi-Chennai), Purva Express (Howrah-Varanasi-Delhi).
By Bus : NH2 connects Varanasi to Delhi and kolkata. NH29 to Gorakhpur road has connectivity literally to the rest of the country
